About Dr. David C. Wood
Dr. Wood graduated from the Virginia Tech veterinary college in 1991, and started a house call practice in the fall of that year. The clinic was built and opened in 1995.
Prior to moving to the New River Valley in 1987, Dr. Wood lived in Charlottesville for 15 years, where he obtained degrees in Environmental Science and Nursing from the University of Virginia.
In addition to practicing veterinary medicine for over 15 years, Dr. Wood worked as a registered nurse for approximately 25 years, primarily in critical care and emergency units. His nursing experiences have influenced his veterinary philosophy, which emphasizes wellness promotion for his patients and education and communication for pet owners.
